Privacy Policy

PayPal Widget ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") is an Android application that displays your
PayPal account balance on your home screen. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect,
how we use it, and the choices you have. The App is operated through the website
paypalwidget.com.
Independent app notice. PayPal Widget is an independent, third-party
application. It is not owned by, affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by PayPal Holdings, Inc.
"PayPal" is a trademark of PayPal Holdings, Inc.; all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
1. Information we collect
When you choose "Log in with PayPal", you authenticate on PayPal's own pages and grant consent.
PayPal then shares with us, through its official OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect API, only the
information you authorize:
- Identity — your name, email address, and a PayPal user identifier, so we can recognize your session.
- Balance information — your PayPal account balance (read-only), retrieved to show it in the App and its widget.
- Authorization tokens — access/refresh tokens issued by PayPal so the App can read the above on your behalf.
We never see or store your PayPal password — authentication happens entirely on PayPal. We do not
collect your contacts, precise location, photos, or advertising identifiers.
2. How we use your information
We use your information solely to:
- authenticate you and keep you signed in;
- retrieve and display your PayPal balance, including the automatic refresh (about every 10 seconds while active);
- show the connected account's name/email so you know which account is linked.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or marketing, and we do not sell or rent it.
3. How we store and protect it
- All traffic between the App, our server, and PayPal is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS.
- PayPal authorization tokens are stored only on our server, never inside the Android app.
- On your device, the App stores only an opaque session identifier and a cached copy of your balance/name for display.
4. Sharing
We share information only with:
- PayPal, to authenticate you and read the data you authorized — governed by the
PayPal Privacy Statement;
- infrastructure providers strictly necessary to operate the service.
We may disclose information if required by law. We never sell your data.
5. Data retention and deletion
- Tokens and session data are kept while you remain logged in.
- When you tap Log out, your local session is cleared and the related server-side tokens are invalidated and deleted.
- You can revoke the App's access at any time in your PayPal account: Settings → Account access / Connected apps.
- To request deletion of any remaining data, contact us (Section 8).
6. Children's privacy
The App is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
7. International users
Our servers are located in the European Union. By using the App you consent to processing as described here.
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your data, and to object
to processing; contact us to exercise them.
